Are weblogs Internet faculty rooms?

I just finished reading an article on blogs and teachers. It likens, rightly so after reading various instances presented, weblogs to faculty rooms. The article is available through OhioLINK's database Academic Search Premier. Here's a link to the post, or at least what I hope is a persistent link to the post, if you are interested: This Time, It's Personal.

I just read this article and found it very interesting. I think it's important to remind preservice teachers that these are public, especially since they are working with other people's children. Most first-year blogs I've read are good at maintaining that balance, but I could see how one bad day might result in a post that lands you in the principal's office for a serious discussion.
